Apple sold more iPhones and iPods this quarter than any prior non-holiday quarter. Apple sold 6.9 million iPhones for the September quarter, meaning the company officially surpassed the total 10 million iPhone goal they projected for the end of 2008.
Last quarter Apple moved 10,011,000 iPods, down from 10,644,000 the quarter before. This quarter 11 million iPods were sold.
The upcoming holiday quarter is the one that will tell the most in these uncertain economic times. Last year Apple sold 22,121,000 iPods during the Christamas period. Apple is targeting revenue for the next quarter conservatively, between $9 and $10 Billion.
