By Richard Menta 1/18/07 Apple moved 21.1 million iPods in the marketplace during the holiday quarter it reported yesterday. That's about 250% greater than it did the previous quarter and 50% higher than the 14 million iPod players it sold the 2005 holiday season. Said Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer "iPod shipments grew even faster in international markets, which resulted in share gains in every country for which we have market data," Pundits will now look to see if Apple can extend the run of success with Apple TV and then in June when the company ships the iPhone. Overall Apple earned a record $1 billion in profit on $7.1 billion in revenue. |
