Sony Pulls Racial PSP Ad

By Richard Menta 7/11/06

It didn't take very long. A week after Sony created a stir with an ad campaign many called racist the company is pulling that campaign . Reuters is reporting that Sony has removed Dutch billboards running the ads and apologized for the images. "We recognize that the subject matter of one specific image may have caused concern in some countries not directly affected by the advertising. As a result, we have now withdrawn the campaign."

Sony has generated some free global advertising too with the conflict, but the old saying that any press is good press is not always true. We'll see if there is any backlash when Sony releases white PSP sales reports at the end of the year.
