It appears that the EFF's 48 Hours to Stop the Broadcast Flag campaign succeeded. With over 11,000 emails received by the 27 members of the Senate Appropriations Committee the measure to add it to a recent bill was not brought up. According to the EFF "Dianne Feinstein alone received more than 2,600 messages in her inbox. Kay Hutchison, the senior senator for Texas, received 1,441 letters."
Further proof that the grass roots nature of the Internet has become a significant force in politics. Broadcast Flag will rear its ugly head again, Hollywood will by no means give up. Hopefully vox populi will be ready for it in whatever form it comes in.
